Paul Abbott BDScMDS, FRACDS, FPFA, FADI, FICD, FACD
Dr. Abbott is the Winthrop Professor of Clinical Dentistry at The University of Western Australia where he co-ordinates and teaches both the undergraduate and postgraduate endodontic programmes.

From 1986-2002, Prof. Abbott mainly worked in private practice as an Endodontist with part-time university appointments Then in 2003, he was appointed as Head of the School of Dentistry and Director of the Oral Health Centre of WA, positions he held until 2009. From 2010-2012, he was the Director of Postgraduate Studies and Research. Now he concentrates on his teaching and research work as well as working part-time in private practice. He has presented over 600 lectures and courses in 38 countries and he has published 113 articles in refereed dental journals and 18 textbook chapters. He serves on Editorial Boards and Scientific Review Panels of 17 international journals.

Prof. Abbott is a Past President of the International Federation of Endodontic Associations, the Asian Pacific Endodontic Confederation and the Australian Society of Endodontology Inc. He has also been a Director of the Australian Dental Council and is now a member of the Dental Board of Australia. In 2004, he was awarded the University of Western Australia’s Excellence in Teaching Award and in 2008 the Australian Dental Association awarded him their Service Medallion to recognise his service to Dentistry. He is an Honorary Life Member of the Asian Pacific Endodontic Confederation and the University Dental Students Society at UWA.
 
 
 
Leif K. Bakland DDS
Dr. Leif K. Bakland is the Ronald E. Buell Professor of Endodontics at Loma Linda University in California.
 
A member of the AAE since 1971 and a Diplomate of the ABE since 1981, Dr. Bakland has served in numerous capacities in organized dentistry and the specialty of endodontics.  He was a Director of the AAE (1982-85) and served as AAE Secretary (1986-88), following which he was elected Director of the ABE (1988-95) and served as its President (1993-94). A founding Director of the College of Diplomats of the ABE he served as its President (2000-01). In California he was a founding member of the California State Association of Endodontists and served as its President in 1986-87.
Involved in dental education for over 40 years, first at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and then at Loma Linda University,
 
Dr. Bakland is also a consultant in endodontics to the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Dr. Bakland has received recognition for his devotion to the profession by several awards including the I.B. Bender Lifetime Educator Award presented by the AAE in 2004.
 
Dr. Bakland is an active contributor to the dental literature, among which includes co-editorship of Ingle’s ENDODONTICS, 4th, 5th and 6th editions and Traumatic Dental Injuries, 1st and 2nd and 3rd editions. He is currently Associate Editor of Dental Traumatology and Endodontic Topics.
 
 
 
Sami Chogle  BDS DMD MSD
Dr. Chogle is the Director of the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics at the Henry M Goldman of Dental Medicine at Boston University.
 
Dr. Chogle received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Dharad University in India in 1993. In 2000, he earned his specialty certificate in Endodontics and Master's of Science in Dentistry from Case Western Reserve University, followed by his DMD in 2003. He served as an Associate Professor and Director of the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics at the Boston University Institute for Dental Research and Education in Dubai (BUIDRE).
 
Dr. Chogle is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. His work has been published extensively, appearing many times in the Journal of Endodontics and other scientific journals. He has recently co-authored a chapter on the role of Nano-material in Endodontic for the book "Nanomaterial in Clinical Dentistry. He serves as reviewer for Endodontic articles for both the Academy of General Dentistry and the Quintessence International Editorial Review Board. He also serves on the Regenerative Endodontic Committee for the AAE.
 
 
 
Samuel O. Dorn DDS
Dr. Dorn is a Professor, Chair, and Director of Post-Graduate Endodontic Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
 
Dr. Dorn received his DDS from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry and served in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps. Previously, he was an adjunct professor of endodontics at the University of Florida in addition to
 maintaining a private practice in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is also the founding director of postgraduate endodontics at Nova Southeastern University. He holds the Frank B. Trice, DDS, Professorship in Endodontics at UTSD where he is Chair of the Endodontics Department.He is a past president of the AAE (2002-2003), and also has served as a director on the Association's Board of Directors. He is a past director of the American Board of Endodontics and past and current trustee of the AAE Foundation. He currently serves as the President-Elect of the International Federation of Endodontic Associations. He is a Diplomate of the ABE and Fellow of the American and International Colleges of Dentists and Pierre Fauchard Academy.
 
Dr. Dorn has authored many articles and textbook chapters, and lectured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Dr. Dorn was the recipient of the 2013 Coolidge Award, the AAE’s highest award, presented for lifetime achievement in endodontics.
 
 
 
James C. Kulild DDS, MS
Dr. Kulild earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry in 1973 and a Master of Science in Oral Biology from The George Washington
University, Washington, D.C.  He received his postgraduate Endodontic education at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., and Madigan Army Medical Center Fort Lewis, Washington. He is a Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics, and Immediate Past President, American Association of Endodontists.  He is a Fellow of both the American and the International College of Dentists.  Dr. Kulild recently retired after eleven years as a tenured Professor and Director, Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry. Upon his retirement, he was granted Professor Emeritus status based on his significant contributions to the University.  
 
He spent 28 years active duty and retired from the U.S. Army in 2002.  Previous Army assignments included Director, U.S. Army Endodontic Residency Program, Fort Gordon, Georgia; Dean and Commandant, Academy of Health Sciences, U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School, Fort Sam, Houston, Texas; Commander, 93D Medical Battalion (Dental Service), Heidelberg, Germany; and deployment to support Operation Joint Guardian as Commander, Task Force Medical Falcon and United States NATO Surgeon, Task Force Falcon, Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo in Yugoslavia.
 

 

Roberta Pileggi DDS, MS

Dr. Pileggi is an Associate Professor, Chair, and Director of Post-Graduate Endodontic Program at University of Florida and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics
 
She completed both her masters degree in Oral Biology and certificate in endodontics at the University of Maryland, College of Dental Surgery. 
 
Dr. Pileggi has received numerous faculty awards including the Edward Osetek Award given by the American Association of Endodontists.  
 
 
 
 
Ove A. Peters DMD, MS, PHD
Dr. Peters is a Professor and Co-chair of the Department of Endodontics at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific, San Francisco and maintains a part-time private practice in the Bay Area. He will direct the postgraduate program at Pacific, slated to begin July 2014.

He received his DMD from the University of Kiel, Germany, in 1990 and post-graduate endodontic training at Zurich University Dental School from 1997 to 2001. He was an Associate Professor and Head of the Faculty Practice in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Zurich from 1996 to 2001 where he earned his PhD in restorative dentistry with emphasis in Endodontics. He then attended the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) receiving an MS certificate in Craniofacial Biology and a Certificate in Endodontics (2006).
 
 
Dr. Peters' main scientific interests have been the performance root canal instruments, assessed by a variety of testing methods, three-dimensional imaging, and the efficacy of antimicrobial regimes in root canal treatment. Dr. Peters has published more than 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally. He has authored multiple chapters in leading textbooks and serves on the review panels and editorial boards of high-impact endodontic journals and was awarded the Louis I. Grossman Award in 2012 by the American Association of Endodontics. Recently he became involved in endodontic biology and now runs a dental stem cell biology laboratory. José F. Siqueira Jr DDS, MSc, PhD
Dr. Siqueira is the Chairman of Endodontics and Director of the Post-Graduate Endodontic Program at Estácio de Sá University. He is also the co-Head of the Molecular Microbiology Laboratory at the same Institution.
 
Dr. Siqueira received his DDS from Gama Filho University, Rio de Janeiro, in 1989, and his endodontic certificate from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in 1992. In 1996, he received his Master’s Degree in Microbiology and Immunology from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He concluded his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology in 1998 at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
 
Dr. Siqueira's primary research interests are in the area of endodontic microbiology and infection control. He has authored and edited 7 other books, several chapters for leading endodontic textbooks, and more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific papers in the areas of endodontics, microbiology and infection control. 
 
Dr. Siqueira was the recipient of the 2012 Louis I. Grossman Award from the French Society of Endodontics. He currently participates in the Editorial Board and serves as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals. He is also actively lecturing on Endodontics world-wide. You can stay in touch with Dr. Siqueira via his website.
 
 
 
Hagay Shemesh DMD, PhD
Dr. Shemesh is the Chair and Post- Graduate Program Director in the Department of Endodontics at the Academic Center of dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA).
 
Dr.Shemesh recieved his DMD in Jerusalem in 1990. He graduated from the post-graduate endodontic program in Jerusalem in 2000 and then immigrated to the Netherlands and started teaching the undergraduate endodontic course in ACTA. He graduated in 2009 cum laude from the University of Amsterdam defending his PhD thesis “New insights into the root canal wall”.
 
Dr.Shemesh is the Dutch representative to the European Association of Endodontology and he is a member of the scientific referee board of the Journal of Endodontics. He lives in the centre of Amsterdam and works part-time in a private practice limited to endodontics.
